The American College of Forensic Examiners recently awarded Dr. Parker diplomate status in forensic clinical psychology. In addition, he has been recognized as a diplomate by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, a national organization for professionals who deal extensively with stress and crisis intervention. Dr. Parker has been involved with the mass media on several projects. He has been interviewed by Newsday, Redbook magazine, Men's Health Online, Complete Woman, Car and Travel, The Long Islander, and Woman's World. He consulted on the A & E Network's "The Love Chronicles" and was the online chat expert for the Lifetime TV drama "Strong Medicine." He also appears as a relationship expert on WALK-FM radio in New York with the "97.5 second Love Lesson." Dr. Parker has been in private practice for eighteen years. He specializes in relationship counseling, depression and anxiety disorders, and sex therapy. His association with Dr. John Gray, author of the Mars and Venus series, has been for the past five years. |
Dr.
Dean Parker is a clinical psychologist who has been
working in the field of behavioral health for the past
twenty years. He is the Director of the Mars & Venus
Counseling Centers of Long Island. He has held numerous
positions including Director of Student Psychological
Services at Hofstra University, Director of Clinical and
Health Services at St. Mary's Children and Family Services,
and Consulting Psychologist on the Alcohol and Drug
Detoxification Unit at Hempstead Medical Center. In
addition, he served as a supervisor for the Psychological
Evaluation and Research Center at Hofstra as well as an
Adjunct Assistant Professor there for over 10 years.
